about

Seattle electronic duo NAVVI is built on duality. Producer Brad Boettger and vocalist Kristin Henry first formed over a common goal: making brooding, experimental music with pop accessibility. It’s a combination of both of their backgrounds, highlighting Brad’s ethereal production and Kristin’s affecting vocals.

Last year Brad began sending over beats, letting Kristin live with the music and see what she could do with that. They’d then meet at Kristin’s dining room table to lay down vocals and debate the mix. These tabletop sessions led to their first set of singles, “Weekends // No Lights”, “Give Your Ghost // Black Coast”, and “Glass // Used To Feel”. The press was quick to pick up on their unique blend of UK inspired beats and sultry melodies, garnering praise from the likes of NME, Brooklyn Vegan, Impose, and Line Of Best Fit. Since then, they’ve also appeared on Kitsuné America 3 and this past summer’s lineup for Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party.

Thus far, NAVVI has made it on their own modern interpretation of the DIY mentality. Everything is self-produced, self-managed, and self-designed. Though they’re still in the early stages of their career, their work ethic suggests a promising future.
